How Fix My Credit sources, fact-checks, and corrects what it publishes — and how to hold us to it.

1 · Who publishes this site

Fix My Credit publishes this site. Our videos and deep-dive articles are bylined to the people who teach them: the Credit Curriculum Lead and the Consumer Credit Educator.

2 · What we publish

We publish educational videos and written deep-dives that teach how credit reports and credit scores actually work — reading a report room by room, disputing errors, answering collectors in writing, and rebuilding with simple, boring steps that work. Each video gets a companion article that teaches the same lesson deeper, in writing.

3 · Our principles

One question per piece. Every video and article answers exactly one question, in plain language.

Show the source. Numbers and claims name where they came from, on the page, where a reader can check them.

Honest about limits. If something is outside what we teach — or outside what the evidence supports — we say so instead of stretching it.

No invented numbers. We never make up statistics, counts, prices, or results. If a number is not sourced, it does not publish.

4 · Sources & verification

Every factual claim is checked against a primary source before it publishes: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the Federal Reserve, FICO's and the credit bureaus' own published documentation, and the federal law itself, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Free credit reports come from AnnualCreditReport.com, the one website federal law authorizes for them.

5 · How a piece is made

Draft. The piece is drafted against the question it answers, with each claim tied to a source or flagged as needing verification.

Fact-check. A second pass confirms every source, number, and name before anything publishes.

Publish + log. The piece publishes with its date. Substantive changes after publication are never made silently — they are logged on our corrections page.

6 · AI disclosure

Our videos and articles are produced with AI assistance: research support, drafting, narration, and visuals may be AI-assisted. We disclose that here, in the open, because it is part of how the work is made. AI is never used to invent a quote, a review, a statistic, or an experience that did not happen, and every piece is checked against primary sources before it publishes. Our hosts are teaching personas — characters who present the material — not licensed professionals.

7 · Educational only

Everything here is educational only — it is not personalized financial advice. Straight talk, the same words we put on every post: we don't repair credit, and we don't take clients. This site tests credit help, explains it in plain English, and recommends a short list. We do not dispute items on your behalf, and we do not guarantee any change to your credit report or score. When you sign up with a company through a link on this site, that company may pay us a referral fee — never at extra cost to you. That affiliate relationship is disclosed on every post.

8 · Corrections

Errors happen; hiding them is a choice we don't make. Our full corrections policy — what we fix, what we clarify, and the public log — lives at Corrections.
